The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals set three bottom lines – economic development, environmental sustainability and social inclusion – for human development. Realizing these will highly depend on a fourth bottom line: good governance at all levels. That’s precisely what IIAS stands for.
Therefore, IIAS is supporting this global agenda. Holding the 2016 IIAS-IASIA Joint Congress on the theme of “Building Capacity for Sustainable Governance“ is one way to get involved in this debate. Opening a Focus on Sustainable governance is another, especially on the Opening day of the 2016 session of the United Nations Committee of Experts in Public Administration (UNCEPA), which will focus on this theme: “Moving from commitments to results: transforming public institutions to facilitate inclusive policy formulation and integration in the implementation and monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals“.
We invite you to browse the Focus, send us your comments, engage the discussion on our social networks (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn) and come back as more content will be published in the coming weeks.
