7th Mediterranean Economic Week

Because of their geographic location, history, port activities and the close ties they have developed with all Mediterranean countries, Marseille and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region play a pivotal role in the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. Solid expertise and concrete and unifying projects combined with the firm political will of local and regional authorities and the mobilization of civil society and social and economic actors have confirmed them as the indispensable platform for economic development in the Mediterranean.
The objective of the Mediterranean Economic Week is to give more visibility to the many local initiatives that contribute to the development of Mediterranean economies. It will thus provide comprehensive and documented input on economic development issues in the Mediterranean.
The 7th edition will focus on the role of culture as a driver of economic development in the Mediterranean region. It will be hosted at the Villa Méditerranée and will welcome key speakers from the different shores of the Mediterranean.
The programme will feature :
– Plenary sessions on the role of culture as a potential driver of economic inclusion in the region
– Expert-led workshops on issues related to the role of culture in the regional economy
– Dedicated places and moments to foster networking among participants
– The Mediterranean Economic Rendez-Vous: « Innovation, economy of culture : a new world building upon new networks
